Guinness Extra Stout

A large head. A faint aroma of malt and hops. Roasted malts with hints of chocolate, coffee and some smoke. Thick beer with a faint smoked/bitter aftertaste.

A faint aroma of malt and grains. Taste is sweet and some corn and grains. Almost no aftertaste. Not a beer i like .. but better than Miller.

Youngs Double Chocolate Stout

A very dark brown color with a creamy small head. A cocoa/chocolate aroma. A taste of chocolate. Or more like cocoa. Also an aftertaste of dark chocolate. Update: A tad too much chocolate for my taste. Half would have been Double Chocolate anyway ...

Samuel Adams Boston Ale

A copper/amberlike color with a thin head. A somewhat fruity aroma. A slight caramel taste with some spicy and hoppy notes. Well balanced taste. A really nice beer.

A summary of week 17

While im enyoing the choice for today St Landelin Mythique. A Belgian strong ale. I tought that i would make a small summary of last weeks highs and lows.

The weeks pretty much best beer i had was Orval a Belgian ale. Mostly due to the fruit and spicy taste it had. It was quite refreshing.

And the weeks low was Estrella Damm a common pale lager. Probably suits fine on a hot summer day. But i know better beers for that like Mariestads Export for example.

All beers ive tested has been very nice. All you need is to take some time after work .. and RELAX! :)

Looking foward for the other ones i have in the cooler for this week ...

Abbaye de St Landelin Mythique

A Light golden color slightly hazy. An aroma of fruits .. apple/citrus and some yeast. Taste is slightly dry with a sweet fruity taste. Some taste of malt and yeast. Almost cider like. The finish is dry, citric/fruity and some hops. Bottle is a 75cl with a cork.

Fullers ESB

Amber/copper in color with a thin head. Aroma of caramel. Taste of caramel and a grapelike citrus taste. Stays awhile in the mouth with a long bitter finish.

Marstons Old Empire

Golden redish .. more like copper in color. The head disappears fast. Aroma of caramel, toffee, hops and malt. I like the caramel and bitter taste. some citrus or more grape like taste. A bitter aftertaste.

Estrella Damm

Light yellow in color Aroma of some malt. The flavor has some corn and ricy notes. A clean taste with some bitter notes. What you ould expect form a pale lager.

Oppigards Single Hop Ale

Golden color with a small almost creamy head. A nice aroma of hops, citrus and grass. Taste of citrus and some grass .. with a perfect round bitter finish.

North Coast Red Seal Ale

Duvel

A bright yellow color. A quite large head. Aroma of citrus or grape and some spices. Tastes o fruits banana .. some yeast .. a citrus/lime like taste. Some alcohol and a dry partially sweet in the end.

A golden hazy color. A thick head. Aroma of fruit hint of spices. The flavour has some dried fruits.. citrus and a hint of spices. The taste fades out and is a tad dry. Very nice.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

A golden colored beer. A nice aroma of fruits and malts .. hints of citrus. Sweet and fruity taste with hops and malts .. and here there is a faint hint citrus too. A nice bitter slightly oily finish.

Gran Sangre de Toro

Gran Sangre de Toro a reserva from 2005. A really good wine. A dark red spicy wine with a fruity aroma with and fruity taste .. some cherry flavor. Great palate and a decent aftertaste.

A beer with a white longlasting head. Smooth to drink. A little aroma. The taste is faint aswell. but is a good balanced with some roasted taste. And i do prefer the tap version.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro

Good color. Decent head. wouldnt call this a bitter one. A flavor of malt with a slight bitter aftertaste. (and yes i know its the wrong glass for beer)

Ok head. The yellow color is ok. A mild sweet and bitter taste with a mild bitter finnish. An ok lager, nothing more. (And yes i know thats the wrong glass for beer!)

A nice amber color withjh a nice head. A good aroma , sweet and fruity. I love the taste of caramel and oak and the buttery sweet finnish. A clear favorite of mine.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen

A nice head. Dark color. Nice smokey flavor. Really nice.Both aroma and taste. Best smokebeer ive tested so far. This would probably be a typical love or hate beer.
